Bushveld – Week-end break away (2 days)


Take a short break from the mundane pressures of life in the city. Spend some time with us on a beautiful Game farm in the Ellisras area. We will collect you from Pretoria/Johannesburg on the Friday morning at 11.00.


Kick back and relax with a fully stocked cooler box on the way to the Game farm. Once there you have some time to unpack and familiarize yourself with the beautiful lodge. Just before sunset, we head off for our first game drive. Enjoy a sundowner or two as we drive through the veld, looking for 2 of the Big 5 (Rhino and Leopard). Other species that we are likely to encounter are Kudu, Blue Wildebeest, Impala and Zebra. Species that may possibly be seen in the evenings include Genet, Civit, Serval, Aardvark, Aardwolf, Porcupine, Night-jars and a variety of Owls.


Saturday morning starts with coffee/tea and some rusks and then we are off on our second game drive. A hearty Brunch awaits us on our arrival back at camp. Relax in the afternoon or take a leisurely walk with a guide through the bush and get to see and learn about the smaller creatures and gems that are usually missed on a game drive.


The evening ensures another magical game drive with sundowners and snacks. We end the evening around the camp fire after a proper South African braai with salads, dessert and all the trimmings!


Sunday morning ensures our last game drive for the week-end, hopefully we would have seen most of the species by now. After lunch and a few good-byes we head back to the city with memories of our wonderful break away. Sunsets comprising of the brightest hues of oranges, purples, greys and pinks. The distant calls of the fish eagles and the monotonous calls of the crickets and cicadas. Aah, this is the life.
