Kruger National Park and surrounding area (4 nights / 5 days)
Take a short break from the mundane pressures of life in the city. Spend some time with us in the world famous Kruger National Park which is one of the largest and oldest National Parks in the world. It covers approximately 2 million hectares, was established in 1898 and opened to the public in 1927. This is one of the best places to view the wide variety of fauna and flora that South Africa has to offer.
On our way to the Kruger we will stop off at the Elands River Falls, which makes a 228 meter drop into a deep, clear pool. We then head off to the world famous Sudwala caves, these caves are the oldest known caves in the world and are estimated to be about 240 million years old. Next to the caves there is a dinosaur park with life size replica dinosaurs in a lush habitat. After which we head off to our final destination, the Kruger National Park.
Mornings, afternoons and some evenings will be spent game viewing. You will have time to shop and rest from about 11:00 – 14:00, the hottest part of the day (most mammals are not very active during this time of the day and lie and rest under the trees).
Possible sightings that we may encounter include seeing the Big 5 (Elephant, Lion. Leopard, Rhino & Buffalo). On the night drives we will look out for the more elusive animals like the Gennet, Civit, Serval, Aardwolf or mabe even a Lion/Leopard kill. The hyenas are also more active in the evenings.
